In August 2019 Which? magazine announced the results of their latest consumer research into the best place to buy a stairlift. Their UK research involved speaking to 754 stairilft owners to find out their experience of buying a stairlift and then calculated the customer satisfaction ratings from a range of suppliers.
Independent companies came top of the customer satisfaction table with an impressive 80% score. These include authorised dealers such as Portadown-based Bann Mobility who are approved by Acorn Stairlifts to sell their range of straight and curved stairlifts in Northern Ireland. Customers were asked about the after-care support received, customer service, sales practice and price transparency.
Spending time with the customer is the starting point in purchasing a stairlift. This is a major purchase and you need to find out if a stairlift is the right solution for the customer. We always carry out a site visit to make sure it is possible to install one in their home. Then we give you a quote which includes the stairlift and its installation. We pride ourselves in not putting pressure on anyone to purchase but instead we make recommendations based on our 20 year track record in the stairlift industry and making sure that you will be able to use the stairlift safely.

Which questions should you ask before buying a stairlift?
Of course, you will want to know how much a stairlift costs, how long it will take to install and how much mess will the installation make in your home. But also ask these important questions:
- How safe is a stairlift?
- Are there any weight restrictions?
- Is the stairlift easy to use?
- Will you need to make any other changes to your home eg move an electrical socket or radiator?
- Will everyone else in the house still be able to use the stairs?
- What after-sales care does the company provide?
- Does it need serviced every year?
- Can you pay for it in instalments?
Independent stairlift retailers such as Bann Mobility will be only too happy to answer your questions even if you think they are trivial.
